The St Sebastian River Preserve State Park Guided Hike
This site preserves open grassy forests of longleaf pine that were once commonplace throughout Florida. The pine flatwoods form a backdrop for other biological communities, including cypress domes, scrubby flatwoods, sandhills, and a beautiful strand swamp. These habitats are home to many native plants and animals, including over 50 protected species. Photographers, bird-watchers, and nature enthusiasts can explore miles of trails. Wildlife Watching Bus Tour to TM Goodwin / Broadmoor Marsh
Habitat restoration on T.M. Goodwin WMA provides excellent wintering food and cover for numerous duck species including ring-necked ducks, blue-winged teal, wigeon, mottled ducks and pintail. This project is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to maintain high quality wetland habitat for wintering and resident waterfowl, while providing public recreation. Enjoy this bird and wildlife watching expedition as a Certified Florida Master Naturalist points out different species of water fowl and more.
We will ride together in a comfortable bus around this amazing conservation area just west of Fellsmere. Master Naturalists will cover wildlife identification, local history and wildlife management practices being used in the area and be on hand to answer any questions you might have. Cameras and binoculars are recommended.
We will pack a picnic lunch with plenty of fresh veggies, fruit, sandwich fix ins’ and homemade desserts!
